Man
people tend to think more about the traditions and religious things that
different ethnicities do when really the true meaning goes far beyond that
definition.
Cultural
competence also has a lot to do with your workplace and how effectively you can accommodate a patien’ or customers needs. The cultural and
personal aspects which includes individual, family, and community cultural
values, beliefs, and behaviors have more to do with whatkind of people you have in your close group of friends and colleagues that you would consider trustworthy. the personal aspect to me shows more about who a person really is because most people don't have relaxed conversations at work.
Definitions of cultural competency are varied,
but generally describe intelligence, respect, and knowledge to respond to
diverse bodies of people and their cultures. Diversity is an extention of authenticate
the need for addressing cultural changes through specific curricula
enhancement, identifying key curricular components, and evaluating existing
didactic learning experiences.
Becoming and being culturally competent is a life long process that is always changing according to your current situation the most important thing is to not be offensive or inappropriate toward anyone. i know this is a lot of information to comprehend but the bottom line is NO ONE has the right to disrespect anyone for any reason. The Golden Rule: Always treat others how you would want to be treated. Period.
